    • Proposals to reinvent Edington St into a lively outdoor arts space
    Facilitating physical and social links between the surrounding arts organisations

    Edington Street is being developed as a lively outdoor space for use by arts organisations in the Glasgow Canal area.

    Edington St runs between the technical production bases of two major arts organisations: Scottish Opera and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

    There is great potential to develop this space into a real outdoor hub for the arts, developing links between the neighbouring organisations and providing a stimulating, versatile landscape which encourages interaction and allows the public to engage with the surrounding creative activity.

    Proposals include a performance platform, cafe, feature lighting, landscaping and sheltered spaces.

    The long term intention for the street is to rid it of vehicles and turn it into a flexible, communal space that can be colonised by the neighbouring arts organisations for performances, events, teaching and gatherings.
