MOVING FORWARD IN MARYHILL
Work to revitalise Glasgow’s canal corridor is moving on apace and nowhere is this more evident than in Maryhill.
To help guide this revitalisation over the coming years the Glasgow Canal
Regeneration Partnership, working closely with the local community, is creating a
masterplan for the area. This long term vision for the Maryhill Locks area has taken on board comments and suggestions during a wide ranging community engagement process with the final plans now nearing completion.
Anyone looking to view the masterplan proposals for Maryhill Locks will soon be able to do so at www.glasgowcanal.co.uk While this preferred design option will see the long term transformation of Maryhill Locks, there are a host of individual projects currently being delivered in the area around Maryhill which form an important element of the regeneration plans.
The Make a Difference (MAD) initiative includes everything form landscaping works
and environmental improvements to lighting projects at the Whitehouse Bar and
Maryhill Burgh Halls. Updates on all MAD projects will be included in future editions of the newsletter.
