This great Glasgow institution first saw the light of day in
1876 in Partick, hence the name. Over the next 33 years Thistle
operated from various homes, before moving to Firhill in 1909.
Firhill Stadium, as everyone in the local area knows, is the
home of Partick Thistle Football Club which
currently plays in the Scottish First Division. There is also a
current ground share agreement with Glasgow Warriors which
has seen them play their home rugby matches at Firhill for a number
of years but will finish in June 2012.
