A football club with a history nearly as long as that of the Glasgow canal!

This great Glasgow institution first saw the light of day in 1876 in Partick, hence the name. Over the next 33 years Thistle operated from various homes, before moving to Firhill in 1909.

Firhill Stadium, as everyone in the local area knows, is the home of Partick Thistle Football Club which currently plays in the Scottish First Division. There is also a current ground share agreement with Glasgow Warriors which has seen them play their home rugby matches at Firhill for a number of years but will finish in June 2012.

Firhill Stadium has a lot more to offer than simply as a sporting venue. Within the Stadium there are function suites of various sizes which can be used for anything from Business Seminars to Birthday Parties and can comfortably hold from 10 - 300 people. There are on site catering and bar facilities in both the Main and Jackie Husband Stands and these are available for hire 7 days a week.

We have recently set up Partick Thistle Community Trust which will greatly enhance our involvement in the local community and details of new initiatives will be released in due course. We hope that these new programmes will cement Partick Thistle Football Club's place in the heart of a vibrant Maryhill Community and are sure that the proposed Canal redevelopment will mean we have a local attraction that will bring enjoyment to those who stay nearby and visit from further afield.
